NEW TOURIST OFFICE IN VELA LUKA
On Wednesday,19th of May, 2010, the tourist board of Vela Luka formally opened a new and modern office on the ground floor of the municipal building in the center of town. The guests in attendance were addressed by Dorjan Dragojević, Director of the Tourist Board, along with Boris Žuvela, the Mayor of Vela Luka commented, " This new office is equipped with some of the most modern features of any office in operation today." The modern design was created by Marko Padovan, a local young architect, from "Vlak" associates, who was grateful for the trust and the opportunity to design the new office. The project was jointly financed by the City and the Tourist Board.
The new tourist office was blessed by Rev. Magic Većeslav, while the legendary a cappella group, Klapa Vela Luka, entertained during the festive reception.
VELA LUKA WINS THE "PERUNIKA - BOGIŠA" AWARD
On the 23rd of December, 2010 the Dubrovnik - Neretva County Tourist Board held an awards ceremony at Hotel Argentina in Dubrovnik where the "Perunika - Bogiša" 2010 award was presented to Vela Luka.
This annual town beautification project award has been presented to various municipalities for the past several years and this year Vela Luka was the recipient.
In addition to the beautification projects throughout the town, the new and modern Tourist Information Center was a contributing factor for the prize.
The award was presented to Dorjan Dragojević, director of the Vela Luka Tourist Board by Nikola Dobroslavic the Prefect of the Dubrovnik - Neretva County, who is also the president of the county Tourist Board.
